Second school commission in importance in Quebec, the CSMB gathers nearly 45 000 pupils (25 000 with the primary education, 14 000 with the secondary, 2 900 with the vocational training, 2 700 with the education of the adults and 250 with the services with the companies and with labour) divided in 88 establishments (62 primary schools, 13 secondary schools, 2 special schools, 6 vocational training centers and 5 adults education centers).

Commission scolaire de Montréal

The Commission Scolaire de Montréal (CSDM) is the most important school commission of Quebec, which makes of it an institution impossible to circumvent in the field of education. The territory of the CSDM covers Montreal’s heart. It includes the following districts: Ahuntsic-Cartierville, Coast-of-Snow-Our-injury-of-Grace, Draper-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Plate-Mount-Royal, Rosemont it Small-Fatherland, South-west, City-Marie, Villeray-Saint-Michel-Park-Extension and Westmount.

English Montreal School Board

On July 1, 1998 the English sectors of the former Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal, the Commission des Écoles Catholiques de Montréal (CECM), Commission scolaire Jérome-Le-Royer and the Commission scolaire Sainte-Croix were amalgamated to form the English Montreal School Board (EMSB). More than 38,000 students are served by 61 elementary and secondary schools, 11 outreach schools, 10 social affairs institutions and 11 adult and vocational centres.
